NH Vic

Like most other Neighbourhood Houses, Ballarat East Neighbourhood House is a member of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria, and also a member of the Central Highlands Association of Neighbourhood Houses.

The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House shares a joint Committee of Management with the Ballarat and Wendouree Neighbourhood Centres. Along with the Ballarat North Neighbourhood House, we collaborate to deliver programs, activities and events throughout the wider Ballarat community.

The City of Ballarat is a key partner of the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House. The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House accesses funding through variety of programs and grants, including the Engaging Communities Program.

Barkly Square

Ballarat East Neighbourhood House has relocated to a new staff office at Barkly Square at 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat. Coordinated by lead tenant, BGT, a key objective of Barkly Square is to provide a site for community growth, education, and wellbeing. We are fortunate to join a long list of other fantastic community organisations who hold tenancies in Barkly Square.

Eureka Hall

The Eureka Stockade Memorial Park Committee continues to support the Ballarat East community through our Memorandum of Understanding regarding the use of the Eureka Hall. The majority of our community groups and activities are currently held at the Eureka Hall, which continues to undergo improvements through the City of Ballarat.

 Ballarat Toy Library

A volunteer community organisation, The Ballarat Toy Library has been running for over 35 years. They loan a wide range of quality toys, equipment, puzzles and games. The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House is partnering with the Ballarat Toy Library in 2021 to establish a Playgroup at Barkly Square.

Pot of Courage

A Pot of Courage is an unique, inspiring social enterprise and also located at Barkly Square. To read the incredible story of how A Pot of Courage came to be, click here. Ballarat East Neighbourhood House looks forward to partnering with A Pot of Courage for a Pay it Forward system - stay tuned! We also hold our weekly Chatty Wednesdays here, which supports this wonderful organisation whilst encouraging community members to come along for a cuppa and a chat with others.

Established in 1989, VALiD is an award-winning organisation that has been at the forefront of advocating for people with a disability. VALiD helps to empower people with a disability and their families. Ballarat East Neighbourhood House partnered with VALiD to deliver a Be Connected class via Zoom in 2020.

The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, which provides specialist knowledge and support to young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds. CMY is also based at Barkly Square, Ballarat East. Ballarat East Neighbourhood House partnered with CMY to deliver 'ConnectIT' in March 2021.

We would also like to thank our supporters, who have provided funds or in-kind support for the establishment and ongoing operation of the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House.
