Connecting Learning Together 20 November 2024Background

The successful Community Group Governance Program, funded by the City of Ballarat through a 4-year Strategic Partnership Grant, is managed by the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House and delivered across the four Neighbourhood Houses.

The Governance Program continues to exceed the project goals by reaching over 180 local community groups, mainly through the presentation of free workshops (face-to-face and online). Through this contact with participants from these community groups the topic of how to bring in funds is often raised.

Networking Event

In response to this, and to offer a networking opportunity for community groups, we are holding our first networking event.

We want to make community groups aware of the various ways that funds can be raised to support the work that they do. We have four local organisation to talk for 10 minutes each about their experience

  1. Membership – Greg Jakob, Ballarat Tool Library
  2. Donations – Clare O'Connor, Ballarat Repair Cafe
  3. Online Fundraising and Events - Andrew Eales, CEO, Ballarat Foundation
  4. Partnership with Business - Lou Ridsdale (Founder/Director) and Claire Huntington (Chair), Food is Free Inc.

In addition, we will hear from the City of Ballarat, Community Bank Buninyong and the Ballarat Foundation about local grant opportunities.
