About Ellen

Ellen Sørensen is a multidisciplinary artist with special skills in paper cutting art and storytelling. She currently works at Ballarat Specialist School where she has supported students’ learning for over six years.

Ellen is also a prolific songwriter, having written and recorded her own music under the alias Shadow Feet and
regularly performed at venues in both Ballarat and Melbourne.

Ellen has been a Ballarat local for eight years. For the past three years she has worked with local creative studio Furals to construct wooden toys and deliver craft experiences at markets and festivals in Ballarat.

With 10+ years experience as a face painter it is likely you may have glimpsed her at similar events as The Travelling Face Painter. On such occasions, she specialises in taking extraordinary requests from imaginative minds and looks
forward to bringing the same energy and creativity to Creative Kids Club
workshops.

Walking: Head to the cafe near the rear entrance of Barkly Square. The entrance for the wonderful A Pot of Courage cafe is located inside of Barkly Square at 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat East. Follow the A Pot of Courage signs. Come in past the cafe and head to the end of the hallway, past the community area to the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House Community Room.
Driving: You can park on Barkly Street, or behind the building in the car park or on the street along Princes Street North. You can access Princes Street North from Eureka Street or Barkly Street.
Bus: There is a bus stop close to Barkly Square: Route 20, near the corner of Barkly Street and Main Road.
Bicycle: There is bike parking available at Barkly Square.

Public toilets are available within Barkly Square. We recommend that children go to the toilet with their parents/carers before attending the activity to minimise the need for them to leave the room to go to the toilet during the activity.
