The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House is open Tuesdays to Fridays from 9.00 am - 5.00 pm during school term.

You can find us by heading to the Barkly Square Main Reception, on the Barkly Street side of the building (Wadawurrung Country, 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat East, opposite the Ballarat Fire Station). Our office is managed by a small team of staff and volunteers, including students on placement. We recommend making an appointment by phone or email.

Due to small staff numbers, we may not always be available to meet with you. We suggest making an appointment by phone or email before visiting.

Barkly Square

25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat East

There are two entrances to Barkly Square:

(1) Main Entrance, Barkly Street via a ramp. This is where you will find the Barkly Square Main Reception managed by BGT (Ballarat Group Training) who are the lead tenants and site managers at Barkly Square. This entrance is closest to the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House staff and volunteer office which is located upstairs. Please ask for us at the Main Reception and we will come down to meet you.

(2) Rear Entrance, from the Princes Street South car park. This entrance is between the 1816 cafe and Tegan Crosbie's Workshoppery.

The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House Community Room can be accessed easily from either entrance. It is down the western hallway, near TheY Ballarat office. Room 103.

Walking: There are footpaths to both of the entrances to Barkly Square, with a ramp to the Barkly Street entrance.
Driving: You can park on Barkly Street, or behind the building in the car park or on the street along Princes Street North. You can access Princes Street North from Eureka Street or Barkly Street.
Bus: There is a bus stop close to Barkly Square: Route 20, near the corner of Barkly Street and Main Road.
Bicycle: There is bike parking available at Barkly Square.

Public toilets are available within Barkly Square.

Eureka Hall

Tai Chi is run at Eureka Hall, 104 Stawell Street South, Ballarat East.

Tai Chi classes are held in the larger (south) room at Eureka Hall. Please enter via the door on the Stawell Street South side of the Hall.

Walking: The main entrance is on the Stawell Street South side of the building.
Driving: You can park in the car park between Eureka Hall and the Eureka Pool, entry from Stawell Street South.
Bus: Catch either the Ballarat-Canadian Bus (Route 20) and hop off at Stop 35385 (Kline Street/Eureka Street) or the Ballarat-Brown Hill Bus (Route 15) and hop off at Stop 35379 (Eureka Stockade Memorial Park/Eureka Street). Walk along Stawell Street South Street to Eureka Hall.
Bicycle: Please secure your bicycle outside Eureka Hall.

Public toilets are available adjacent to Eureka Hall. There are no toilets inside the building.

Eureka Centre

Alexander Technique (Wednesdays) and Gentle Yoga (Fridays) are held at Eureka Centre Ballarat, 102 Stawell Street South, Ballarat East. 

Please note, this is not the historic Eureka Hall which is up the hill, closer to Eureka Pool, rather the large, modern building. 

Walking: As the Eureka Centre is not open until 10.00 am, for early classes, please enter through the side entrance closest to the cafe and head through the cafe to the Tower Room.
Driving: You can park in the car park between Eureka Hall and the Eureka Pool, entry from Stawell Street South.
Bus: Catch either the Ballarat-Canadian Bus (Route 20) and hop off at Stop 35385 (Kline Street/Eureka Street) or the Ballarat-Brown Hill Bus (Route 15) and hop off at Stop 35379 (Eureka Stockade Memorial Park/Eureka Street). Walk along Stawell Street South Street to the Eureka Centre.
