Beginner's Auslan - REGISTER NOW

Join Jane for this 8-week course designed to introduce you to Auslan (Australian Sign Language). 

You will have the opportunity to practise in groups and build on your Auslan skills each week.

This is a Learn Local Course, with costs subsidised through the Victorian State Government's Adult and Community Further Education (ACFE) program in partnership with the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre.

9.30 am - 11.30 am, Thursdays during school term

8-week course

Thursdays, 9 February - 30 March (8 sessions)

$70 for the 8-week course

Ballarat East Neighbourhood House Community Room, Barkly Square, Ballarat East.

A minimum of 5 participants will be required for this course to proceed.

A Pot of Courage Cafe Chatty Table - All welcome

Intermediate Auslan - Returning in Term 2, 2023. Please contact us to express your interest in this course. A minimum of 5 participants will be required for this course to proceed.

To register, please contact the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House team. We are available during school term, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm Tuesdays to Fridays. 

Conditions of participation

  • Please read the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House Activity Terms and Conditions. You will be asked to agree to these upon registration for this class.
  • All participants in Ballarat East Neighbourhood House activities must follow the current Statewide COVID-Safe principles.
  • If you are feeling unwell and/or have cold/flu symptoms please do not come to the activity.
  • Please sanitise your hands upon entry to and exit from Barkly Square. Hand sanitiser will be available.
  • Keep at least 1.5 metres from other people in the activity.
  • Bring your own drink bottle. A Pot of Courage cafe at Barkly Square will be open if you would like to purchase hot drinks and food.
  • Arrive 5-10 minutes before the activity starts to allow time to complete any paperwork.
  • If you have any injuries or issues which may affect your ability to partipate fully in the activity, please arrive early and discuss with Jane.
  • Turn off your phone/digital devices and store your possessions in the room.
  • A maximum of 15 participants will be able to take part in this activity.
  • Tickets are not transferable.
