The Victorian Department of Families, Fairness and Housing provides core funding to the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House, through the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program.
Like most other Neighbourhood Houses, Ballarat East Neighbourhood House is a member of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria, and also a member of the Central Highlands Association of Neighbourhood Houses.
The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House shares a joint Committee of Management with the Ballarat and Wendouree Neighbourhood Centres. Along with the Ballarat North Neighbourhood House, we collaborate to deliver programs, activities and events throughout the wider Ballarat community.
The City of Ballarat is a key partner of the Ballarat East Neighbourhood House. The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House accesses funding through variety of programs and grants, including the Engaging Communities Program.
Ballarat East Neighbourhood House staff office is located at Barkly Square, 25-39 Barkly Street, Ballarat. Coordinated by lead tenant, BGT, a key objective of Barkly Square is to provide a site for community growth, education, and wellbeing. We are fortunate to join a long list of other fantastic community organisations who hold tenancies in Barkly Square.
The Eureka Stockade Memorial Park Committee continues to support the Ballarat East community through our Memorandum of Understanding regarding the use of the Eureka Hall. The majority of our community groups and activities are currently held at the Eureka Hall, which continues to undergo improvements through the City of Ballarat.
A volunteer community organisation, The Ballarat Toy Library has been running for over 35 years. They loan a wide range of quality toys, equipment, puzzles and games. The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House partner with the Ballarat Toy Library to run a Playgroup at Barkly Square.
A Pot of Courage is an unique, inspiring social enterprise and also located at Barkly Square. To read the incredible story of how A Pot of Courage came to be, click here. Ballarat East Neighbourhood House looks forward to partnering with A Pot of Courage for a Pay it Forward system. We also hold our weekly Chatty Wednesdays here, which supports this wonderful organisation whilst encouraging community members to come along for a cuppa and a chat with others.
Established in 1989, VALiD is an award-winning organisation that has been at the forefront of advocating for people with a disability. VALiD helps to empower people with a disability and their families. Ballarat East Neighbourhood House partner with VALiD to deliver Be Connected classes
The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria, which provides specialist knowledge and support to young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds. CMY is also based at Barkly Square, Ballarat East. Ballarat East Neighbourhood House partnered with CMY to deliver 'ConnectIT' in March 2021.
