The Ballarat East Neighbourhood House runs Beginners' Sewing courses and also shorter and longer courses that build on and extend these basics. Past courses have included Applique, Patchwork, Overlocking and Repairs & Alterations. We also hold a weekly Sewing Circle - see more below.

In Term 1 2024 we will be running an 8-week Beginners' Sewing course with Christine, who is very experienced with sewing and teaching others. See more details below.

If you are interested in finding out about future courses beyond beginners' sewing, please contact us.

BEGINNERS' SEWING - 8-week course

These workshops are designed for beginners new to sewing. Classes are structured to build on new skills learned each week.

Don't have a sewing machine? Let us know as we have a limited number we can share with you.

Basic fabric and thread will be available, but feel free to bring your own if you wish. We will be in touch with those who register about requirements for bringing your own needles if you will be using your own machine.
